When producing the final render of a CGI 3D Animation (think Pixar Quality) which hardware component is mainly responsible for the actual render process? The Processor, or the Video Card?Which hardware component renders 3D Animation, CPU or GPU?
It depends on the software used. POV Raytrace will use your CPU and GPU to the maxiimum. Cinebench will use your CPU to its max. In general, I think the answer would be both.
Good luck.Which hardware component renders 3D Animation, CPU or GPU?
GPU.
It renders all of the imaging.
The CPU however could bottleneck it if it's too slow.
The CPU has memory banks for processes in general, none of which are graphical processes.
The GPU is strictly for processing and rendering images, without a GPU/On Board GPU you wouldn't have any images, right?
The GPU does : Graphical Processing Unit.
Although the CPU could slow it down if its at a low level.
