Why or why not?';Proof of God renders belief irrelevant'; - do you agree or disagree with this statement?
I disagree with this statement.
Proof of God would render FAITH irrelevant, NOT belief.';Proof of God renders belief irrelevant'; - do you agree or disagree with this statement?
I don't. Just because you know someone doesn't mean that you can trust them to do something they said they would do. But on the other side of it, knowing God means you have crossed that hurdle. Now you still have to listen to Him and do what He says.
It's like the questions was about belief in God, when it shows that people aren't understanding the relationship at all. Christians go further than just believing, you know?
Agree.
If there was proof that any god exists, belief would be unnecessary.
I disagree because if knowledge superceded belief in this way, god himself would be an atheist. A god knows there's a god, so he doesn't believe in any gods, so he's an atheist.
';faith unnecessary'; i would have thought
Sure I agree with that.
But you would have to give me proof not only of God, but of the Book the Christians or the Muslims or the Hindus (and others) believe ';proves'; his existence.
You have to show me SCIENTIFIC PROOF that 100% of what the Christians say is true. Show me that, and of course I will believe it with all my heart.
Incontrovertible, consensual evidence for the existence of God will render the word ';atheist'; obsolete. The evidence has yet to arrive, therefore all that is available is ';faith,'; translated to mean ';belief without evidence.';
Unfortunately, too many theists insist that they do have ';proof'; of their gods' existence, which creates another definition for people in this category: Delusional.
I disagree.We do not need proof you do.
Hummm.......this sounds like a rather scholarly question....
We normally think of our beliefs as something we have faith in, but something that we haven't proven. So, if we have proven something, that moves our thoughts about that thing from ';belief'; to ';knowledge';. - I think that's what you're talking about.
I think I would change that statement to ';Proof of God renders belief in God substantiated';
I disagree. I think proof only reaffirms the truth. When one is aware of God... it is a wonderful thing.
No.
Belief is the basis every decision we make in life. We have varying amounts of evidence to support our choices, but they are all based on faith.
Think about it.
Since there is no proof of God, no. I don't agree.
It's truer to say that belief in God renders proof unecessary.
Doesn't make much sense, of course you can believe in something because it's true rather than because you're told you must believe in it..???
And that kind of blind believe is what lumbers the christians with the nutters, just because I believe unicorns come to me in the night and let me touch their horn doesn't mean it's true... that kind of belief itself is questionable.
Sure, but is there really any way to ';prove'; something that is supernatural? Short of God performing something that is physically impossible and taking responsibility? Which the slacker hasn't done in 2,000 years by the way...
Disagree: How did you come about?
Please read the example below, this will explain it in a nut shell;
A teacher has 30 students in a class. She knows student A, B, C will pass the exam, where as student D, E will fail, similarly with the rest of the class. So, the teacher does not have to sit an exam at the end of year, she can just write the results A, B, C pass, D %26amp; E fail.
What will happen then? Naturally, students D %26amp; E will complain that, had they sat the exam they could have passed the exam, the teacher is being unfair / bais. Therefore teacher has no choice, but to give all the students an exam end of year. As teacher predicted, after the exam student A, B, C passed and D %26amp; E failed. Now student D %26amp; E cannot complain, as they are in NO position to do so. They did not work hard or prepare for the exam, thus failed the exam.
Similarly God Almighty knows the future, as HE has set a test for us ';the humans.'; To see, ';Who will remember HIM, Who will worship HIM, Who is most pious amongst us,'; who will pass and who will fail the test. This earth is the “TEST” as you like to call it. To worship GOD Almighty ONLY. DO NOT associate partners with HIM, as Christians do by introducing “TRINITY.” So, after life, (on the day of judgement: mark 13:32) when you appear in front of Almighty GOD, you cannot complain to God Almighty, ';had you set an exam, you would surely have passed.'; There is no second chance. Your result will be made know to you on that day, pass or fail. Only you know, how hard you strived on this earth! Have you done enough? There is only heaven and hell ahead, where you will abide forever. Hell is free. If you obtain Hell, your life came to hapless journeys end. What an awful place of punishment this is!
But, If you obtain heaven, your life came to fruitful journeys end, this is a reward from your Lord, He will pleased with you and you with HIM. This life on earth is equal to drop in the ocean, the life here after is equal to the ocean, forever. If you want to achieve that ';pass'; result, then read the Quran. The last and final revelation from your LORD. For HE has warned us, of that day, when hell will be shown. Where you will abide for ever, an awful place of punishment! Are we heeding that warning? Are we preparing our self for that day are we seeking heaven? Only you can answer this question!
You have a heart in your body, who is controlling it? Are you? Do you have on/off switch for it? If your answer is: NO, then someone has on/off switch for your heart. It pumps away 24/7, 365 days of the year, since you were born, does not require batteries or recharging.
When it is switched off, you will NO longer be with us, “dust to dust, ashes to ashes” just like your fore fathers before you. Where are your fore fathers today? Pay a visit to your local cemetery, and see for yourself. So, I'll ask you, Does someone have an on/off switch for it? yes/no? If yes, Who might have it?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU REJECT THE MESSAGE
[004:014] Those who disobey Allah and His messenger, and stray beyond His limits, are the ones whom He will hurl into the hellfire. They will stay there forever. There is a humiliating punishment for them.
[004:030] We will, soon, hurl into the hellfire anyone who indulges in such aggression and injustice. This is easy for Allah!
[004:055] Among the descendants of Ibrahim are some who believe in him. Indeed, the blazing inferno of hell shall suffice for those who reject and turn away.
[004:056] Of course, We will soon let those who reject Our revelations, burn in the fire of hell. As often as their hide burns (to a char), We will replace it with a new skin for them, so they may taste the torment (all over again). Allah is the Almighty, the all-Wise!
[004:093] Hellfire is the punishment for anyone who kills a believer intentionally and wilfully. He shall stay there forever. He incurs the wrath and the curse of Allah. For such a one, He has prepared the severest (most awful) torment.
[004:097] There are those who have wrought a wrong upon themselves (by not migrating with the prophet, as ordered). The angels (of death), would take possession of their souls and ask, “What was wrong with you?” They would answer, “We were too weak and oppressed in the land!” The angels will say, “Wasn’t the land of Allah vast and spacious enough, so you could emigrate (and seek refuge) elsewhere?” Such ones would have an abode in hell. What a despicable destination!
[004:115] After the guidance has been revealed and explained, if anyone parts his way with the messenger and follows a path different from that of the believers, then We will divert him along his (chosen) path. We will hurl him in the hell (in the hereafter). What a despicable destination!
[004:121] Hell is the abode for all such people. They will find no way to escape from it.
[004:140] It has (already) been revealed to you in the Book (the Qur’an) that: you should not sit with a group when you hear the v
THERE IS NO PROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disagree. 'Belief' is never irrelevant.
Let's pretend ';god'; is irrelevant. (That should be easy for any person to understand... Is it hard to imagine god is irrelevant?... A lot of people can ';imagine'; it's the reality.)
If 'belief' were 'irrelevant', DISBELIEF could not be a reality.
If disbelief were irrelevant, 'proof' would also be irrelevant.
(disbelief and proof are not irrelevant)
proof would destroy faith, you can only have faith in something that cant be proved,
so believers will never accept proof.
so why bother?
Yes, I agree.
There is nothing wrong with having faith as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Your statement is too vague to give a ';yes'; or ';no'; answer.
No; it's a nonsense statement from apologists. Believing any existence claim without evidence is unwarranted.
I disagree. Even if God proved himself beyond a shadow of doubt (as He did in teh past when He led the Hebrews out of Egypt), one would still have to believe what He says. (Likewise, the Hebrews did not believe everything God said, that is why He was often angry.)
