Scientific studies do show that the brain does capture images displayed in some subliminal advertising. And it is also a function of the frame rate per second and the number of frames that the subliminal image is programmed to appear.
As to whether such capture in some part of the brain actually results in a change on the person's opinions, feelings or behavior is another issue.
